Adventures!

Nevi at the Louisville Recreation Center, swimming..... First time she's enjoyed (not just tolerated) the water. It was nice and warm in the kiddy pool (hopefully from heaters and not you know what!) but either way, it was a success!
She also got to pet her first horse at a local Lafayette festival this weekend. Adventures galore!

6 1/2 months cont'd...

Neviah rubs her eyes when she's tired. .... There's no hiding the fact that it's time for bed! And on that note, she now sleeps through the night! WHOO HOO!!!!!! At least she has been for the last week or two. And no more pacifier either. It actually wasn't that hard to break that habit. She wasn't a real pacifier addict to start with like some babies are.
NO TEETH YET, and no signs of pressure or discomfort either.
Also, she 'rolls' as a main form of transportation these days, back to front to back and so on. No crawling yet, though. Probably because she won't spend enough time on her belly to practice the crawling stance. She's definitely more of a walker and can do it if she's holding onto your hands.
STILL, everything goes into her mouth, especially string, straps, tags. Our little peanut loves to explore the world through her mouth!
God love her, she is just so much fun! I wish that everyone could meet her / see her RIGHT NOW. This age is remarkable, watching her mimick us and her environment is a very profound experience. Lots of mamamas and dadadas and lalalalas. She also clicks her tongue, which gets a laugh from me everytime she does it. Unfortunately, she also blows her lips (like a horse) and it's quite a 'wet' experience as she still doesn't swallow all of the saliva that her mouth produces. Bibs still needed......

6 1/2 Months

We were gifted this fabulous trail jogger stroller (Thanks Don, Deb, J.D. & Lori!) and we've been taking full advantage of this smooth riding machine for exercise and Dylan outings. We ALL love it!
She holds her own bottle now, too, when we lay her on the floor...she must be s prodigy of some sort for doing this so early, right?

Nevi's 6 month BDay!

GrandmaMom and JimPa paid us a visit this Labor Day weekend. Coincidentally, it was Neviah's 6 month birthday as well. So, we dolled her up in this 'Christening' gown for the occasion. It was just beautiful, homemade by a friend. What a 'doll baby', as GrandmaMom calls her. She's eating (a little cereal and fruits/vegetables once a day but mostly still just nursing), rolling over, saying a LOT of 'lalalas', smiling, laughing, hugging, kissing (open mouthed, of course!) and squawking like a magpie. Never a dull moment! Watching her grow and blossom is by far the most emotionally charging experience of my journey thus far.
