Coda news

So much happening with Coda these days.  That's the fun part of having a really little one, changes happen SO quickly, it really makes you seize each moment.  He started sleeping through the night around 10 months.  Teething certainly alters this but for the most part, he does well.  He goes to sleep around 7:30/7:45pm and is up usually around 6am, closer to 6:30am on a good morning.  Yep, right now we have one early morning guy and late sleeper gal.  Nev sometimes doesn't wake until 9/10am so on the bright side, it gives us a little 1:1 time with Coda each day.  He started taking steps right before he turned 1 year old and now he can walk up to 8-10 steps at a time and is very mobile.   He LOVES walking from dad to mom and vice versa.  Also, he loves birds, airplanes, balloons, and playing ball.  He plays independently very well but still likes social play time and REALLY likes to be held still, loves to hug and kiss (open mouthed and drewly but WONDERFUL in our eyes).  He went to his 1 year doc appt and we found out that he weighs 21 pounds, which is only in the 25% and is in the 75% for height.  We transitioned him onto WHOLE MILK right after his birthday and he did well with the change.  He did get a diaper rash at first but seems to like the millk taste, cold.  I am relieved to be off formula for many reasons, primarily because of how synthetic it really is.  Yucky stuff but necessary for babies like Coda who don't do well with nursing.  The doc actually commented on how perfect he is and I think she may have fallen in love with him a little, as it's easy to do.  He's even making animal sounds which the doc says is not common until closer to 18 months.  Always feels good when people love your kids and call them smart.    His one year old molars are started to bulge and his eye teeth are as well so we're standing by for more teething adventures!!!!

ahhhh.... wonderful January.....

The new year brought restored health, luster, growth and activity.  Thank goodness.  And thank goodness for fine weather, new toys and good friends.  We celebrated Robb's birthday this month and that provoked Nev's excited for Coda and her birthdays in the coming months....

Blasted Teething Biscuits!

Coda now has 4 teeth on the top and two on the bottom.  Teething is not an easy task for this little guy, lots of pain and irritability, etc.  So I thought I"d try these teething biscuits that I found at Vitamin Cottage.  What a freaking mess with absolutely no decrease in teething discomfort, just a temporary distraction.  After I surrendered to the fact that this teething buscuit was going to be an absolute disaster, the hilarity of the situation came out. Coda was completely covered in this molasses, wheat GOO, as were my kitchen cabinets and kitchen floor.  I am still finding remains of the brown goo in places that surprise even me since I was standing right there the whole time.  I would NEVER recommend teething biscuits as an indoor activity to ANYONE.  A summer activity, maybe, and only with a hose close by...

Christmas

Although health-wise, Christmas this year was pretty harsh, we still had some good times.  A definite highlight was ice skating in Lousiville and lunch at the OLI after.  We also had our traditional Green Eggs & Ham breakfast while Robb read the Dr. Seuss book to accompany.  Gift opening lasted ALL DAY on Christmas.  Ahma and Ahpa coming here each year really makes Christmas SO special and we appreciate thier love and playfulness always.   They definitely are a highlight to our holiday each year.  THANK YOU AHMA AND AHPA for everything!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
I have also included some video of Nevi 'improv-ing', something she has always loved to do.

Nana and PopPop visit..

Lovely visit from Nana and PopPop, BEFORE little Crosley arrived.  Oh how life has changed.

WAY back in November

Here are some random pictures from November 2012.  Must have been a nice weather month b/c we seem to have been outside a LOT.  Hard to believe it was only a few months ago, I hardly remember it.  Coda looks SO small.  Love the turbin Robb.
