Easter Egg Hunt

Waneka Lake had an Easter Egg Hunt for the little tikes last Sunday, an early celebration. They scattered plastic easter eggs in the open space and let the kiddos collect them in their baskets Inside the eggs were little trinkets, toys and candies. Once their baskets were full, the little ones opened the eggs to see their prizes - we returned most of the eggs so they can use them again next year. It was a fine time.

Better yet, my sister, Kristin, and her family just left after an awesome visit. Kristin, Keith, Gavin and Ella stayed here for 4 days - the kids played LOTS and the adults had a grand time, too. We did lots of adventuring - the weather changed drastically in those 4 days but we enjoyed outside time no matter.

Growing boy...

Coda sure is growing. We're getting to know him better everyday, understanding his different cries and needs. He's had a rough go of it in the last month, some colic and discomfort. I have altered my diet to no wheat, soy or dairy. This seemed to help mildly. Finally, we may have gotten some real answers though. We went for Coda's 2 month doc visit and Nev's 3 year doc visit together. Doc said Coda has REFLUX. So, he's now on medicine twice daily until who knows when. I am hoping this will help him to be more comfortable. He laughed yesterday for the first time ever and smiles much more when you smile at him. He keeps trying to find him thumb and is eorking really hard to moving his hands/fingers toward him mouth. He can hold your hand tightly now and even bats at toys that are presented in front of him. He follows the sound of rattles and seems to have good vision now. Get this......Coda weighs 12 pounds, 3 ounces. Nev weighs 34 pounds.

Adventures

Maternity leave is great... Every day has been adventure, some at home and some out and about. We recently drove up to Nederland, a mountain town up from Boulder, to enjoy their Carousel of Happiness. It is an indoor carousel in the heart of town that attracts both munchkins and adults. Nevi was a bit afraid of it at first but seemed to warm up to it after a while. Unfortunately, the day we choose to drive up there was also Frozen Dead Guy Days (an annual celebration honoring a man who lives up there - dead on ice...very strange) so the town was PACKED. We wanted to eat at the local pizza place but EVERY restaurant is town was BUSY. So instead of enjoying a leisurely day in the mountains, it was cut short due to these circumstances. The drive was beautiful, though, and we sure had fun. Coda was in my carrier the whole time and really seems to like car rides.
Also bolgged some photos of Nevi's birthday here at the house. We opted not to have a big party but enjoyed a nice family day together with cake, presents and playtime. She LOVES being 3. Thanks to everyone who helped make her day so special.
Been spending lots of time at Waneka Lake, a park 1 mile from our home that has a shaded play ground. We like to hike around the lake (1.2 miles around) and throw rocks and sticks. It never gest old, just hanging outside on a beautiful day.

A month since the last post...

Life sure gets busy with 2 little ones around. We're still taking pictures, however, and posting as often as life allows. Nevi is having fun carrying her babies around in HER carrier while I have COda in mine and we're also just starting to enjoy painting our nails together. She likes to do my nails and I do hers. She's been on Spring Break from Kiddie Kopia and just returning again.
